Through worship, teaching, counseling, and speaking, Rabbi Ted Falcon Shares the spiritual gifts of Judaism, while appreciating that it is only one of the authentic spiritual traditions of the world. With gentleness and humor, he deeply affirms the integrity of each individual being.

With Imam Jamal Rahman and Pastor Don Mackenzie, he is one of theInterfaith Amigos. Karen Armstrong calls their “exuberant and courageous” second book, Religion Gone Astray: What We Found at the Heart of Interfaith (Skylight Paths, 2011), “an inspiration and example for all of us in these sadly polarized times.” Their first book is Getting to the Heart of Interfaith: The Eye-Opening, Hope-Filled Friendship of a Pastor, a Rabbi & an Imam (Skylight Paths, 2009). Their third book,Finding Peace Through Spiritual Practice (Skylight Paths, 2016), explores spirituality and interfaith dialogue as tools to help heal our personal wounds, societal injustices, and the environment. He is co-author with David Blatner of Judaism For Dummies and author of A Journey of Awakening: Kabbalistic Meditations on the Tree of Life.

Ordained in 1968 at the Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Rabbi Ted served in Los Angeles as a congregational and then a campus rabbi. In 1975, he earned a doctorate in Professional Psychology, with research focused on the nature of meditative and mystical states of consciousness. Since then, his work has bridged the psychological and the spiritual, encouraging deeper integration for greater freedom of personal action and understanding.

The model for the meditative synagogue began in Los Angeles in 1976, after Rabbi Ted and a small group gathered for High Holyday meditations, born out of his need to explore this form of Jewish worship. He shared both meditative practices and teaching with that group, and in 1978 officially formed Makom Ohr Shalom, a Synagogue for Jewish Spirituality.

When he moved to Seattle in 1993, Rabbi Ted and his wife, Ruth Neuwald Falcon, founded Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue. He completed his final year as Bet Alef’s senior rabbi at the end of 2009 so that he could devote his time to writing, teaching, spiritual counseling, and interfaith work. He has the unique distinction of having been Scholar-in-Residence for two years at a Unity Church, Unity of Bellevue.

Forgiveness to “Give Forth”

Forgiveness to ‘Give Forth’

“God can only be Peace and Harmony. Let go all the tenseness in your body, forget all the mean feelings you may have, and let the body, emotions, and mind rest in a deep awareness of that Peace which is God.” Ernest Holmes – The Basic Ideas of Science of Mind P 39

I love Emma Curtis Hopkins’ breakdown of the word forgiveness, ‘for-give-ness’ or to ‘give forth.’ As a means to realign myself with the Harmony that God is, I ‘give forth’ any negative thoughts or false beliefs that I have about myself or others.  I ‘give forth’ any negative thoughts or false beliefs that ever suggested I, or anyone, could be separate from our Source and Creator.

Giving forth our negative thoughts and false belief is a means of clearing a path way for Spirit to operate in our lives. Anger, resentment and hurt, while important to honor, must at some point give way to forgiveness in order to continue our healing process and spiritual growth. This pathway is the richness of life. As we clear ourselves of the false idea that God is something other than who we are, other than our neighbor, we make way for the Truth of our Oneness. When we recognize this Truth we fill those newly cleared spaces with Spirit, expanding our consciousness for a joyfully rich and thriving life. Rev Dr Kathianne Lewis once said in reference to forgiveness that it is, “Total Surrender! You give-forth yourself so God can give all of Itself as you.”

Today forgive, allow yourself to be freed from false thoughts about yourself and others. Allow yourself to be freed from a focus on condition. Everything is possible in God.

I am a Center in the Divine Mind, by Ernest Holmes

This prayer by Ernest Holmes has personally carried me a great distance, through some of the most challenging times of my life. If I am hurting pain does not suddenly cease at these times, however, when I focus on the truth of who I am the pain I feel at life’s ups and downs is pure, not bloated by false stories or fears. A pure emotion is full of power, clarity and healing. Anytime I remind myself of Truth, that I am an extension and expression of the Divine and the Universe is conspiring for my Good, I once again ride with the magical flow of Life. I stand in awe of the mystery and allow myself to be pulled forward and called to my greater what’s next.

Say it for yourself. Say it for others. Speak Truth often and with conviction!

Peace, Love and Blessings, Holly

“I am a center in the Divine Mind, a point of God conscious life, truth and action.  My affairs are divinely guided and guarded into right action, into correct results.  Everything I do, say or think, is stimulated by the Truth.  There is power in this word that I speak, because it is of the Truth and it is the Truth.  There is perfect and continuous right action in my life and my affairs.  All belief in wrong action is dispelled.  Right action alone has power and right action is power, and Power is God…the Living Spirit Almighty.  This Spirit animates everything that I do, say or think.  Ideas come to me daily and these ideas are divine ideas.  They direct me and sustain me without effort.  I am continuously directed.  I am compelled to do the right thing at the right time, to say the right word at the right time, to follow the right course at all times.”

“All suggestion of limitation or unhappiness is uprooted from my mind and cannot gain entrance to my thought.  I am happy, well and filled with perfect Life.  I live in the Spirit of Truth and am conscious that the Spirit of Truth lives in me.  My word is law unto its own manifestation, and will bring to me or cause me to be brought to its fulfillment.  There is no unbelief, no doubt, no uncertainty. I know and I know that I know.  Let every thought of doubt vanish from my mind that I know the Truth and the Truth [made] me free.”

THE ANSWERS ARE WITHIN By Rev William Curtiss

THE ANSWERS ARE WITHIN

“God never asks a question. It is not necessary for God to ask questions because God already knows all the answers. The word for this is “omniscience.” It means that God is the source of all knowledge, wisdom, and intelligence. Since I am one with God, then I have access to all knowledge, wisdom and intelligence. I know what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. I have all the answers. There is Something within me that knows. I trust it totally. It is never wrong; it is always right.

I am filled with confidence because I know, and I know that I know. I never have to worry about the outcome because I am always divinely guided into perfect right decision and perfect right action. I never worry about the “means” because the “end” is already secure. My purpose in life is to express God. God’s purpose in life is to live fully, joyously, creatively and lovingly. I fulfill God’s purpose when I live that way, for I am a vehicle of God’s life. I am the means by which God lives. Accordingly I am endowed with everything necessary to live God’s life: all knowledge, all wisdom, all intelligence.

Knowing this, I now approach each day with excitement and great expectations. Each day is a new opportunity for me to express God, and I have within me an inexhaustible reservoir of resources to do a magnificent job living God’s Life.

I draw upon my inner reservoir of knowledge, wisdom, and intelligence to answer every question and to meet every challenge that presents itself to me today. I have an inexhaustible supply of answers, and they are all right answers. I approach this day in total confidence.”

By Rev William Curtiss – Science of Mind Magazine, December 1992 “Daily Guides to Richer Living”

The power of focusing on the truth of our existence is great. We “pray without ceasing” whether we are aware we are praying or not. Every thought is sending an energetic projection, a blueprint to the Universe about our true beliefs and understanding. Life is a culmination of what each person believes to be possible.

Dive into your beliefs, discover what you believe to be possible. Remember who and what you are and allow this knowing to pull you forward.

Prayer for World Peace by: Ernest Holmes

IMAG1553 cro

A Prayer for World Peace

by: Ernest Holmes

I know there is but One Mind, which is the mind of God, in which all people live and move and have their being.

I know there is a divine pattern for humanity and within this pattern there is infinite harmony and peace, cooperation, unity and mutual helpfulness.

I know that the mind of humankind, being one with the mind of God, shall discover the method, the way, and the means best fitted to permit the flow of Divine Love between individuals and nations.

Thus harmony, peace, cooperation, unity, and mutual helpfulness are experienced by all.

I know there will be a free interchange of ideas, of cultures, of spiritual concepts, of ethics, of educational systems and scientific discoveries—for all good belongs to all alike.

I know that, because Divine Mind has created us all, we are bound together in one infinite and perfect unity.

I know that all people and all nations will remain individual but unified for the common purpose of promoting peace, happiness, harmony, and prosperity.

I know that deep within each person the Divine Pattern of perfect peace is already implanted.

I now declare that in each person and in leaders of thought everywhere this Divine Pattern moves into action and form, to the end that all nations and all people will live together in peace, harmony, and prosperity forever.

Amen. And so it is.

There is no wasted moment in a soul-making life.

He has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels and has a proven ability to inform and inspire students ranging from the informal beginner to the serious scholar. Students and audience members frequently comment on his depth of scholarship, personal approach and sense of humor. Michael has acquired two masters degrees in religious and biblical studies, has taught the classical religious texts from many religious traditions and is a very effective teacher of spiritual phenomena.

He is currently completing his doctoral dissertation at Pacifica Graduate Institute where he has studied Jungian Depth Psychology and universal mythologies. The title of his dissertation is: Watching God Grow Up: Reading the Bible as Stages and Modes of Consciousness.
